For over 20 years, the Chicago Lights Urban Farm has been a vital community outreach program engaging 300 community members through educational experiences, work force development and access to fresh, sustainably grown produce. The lease for the three-quarter acre Urban Farm at Chicago Avenue and Hudson Street ended in December, 2024. This grant supports the 2024 growing season and the simultaneous transition to the Farm’s new site in the Cabrini Green neighborhood.
