Farmers Rising fosters long-term food systems change in Northern Illinois through farmland access, farmer training, and educational programming. Participants interact with farm animals, do chores, learn about sustainable farming, eat locally grown food and traverse diverse farmscape (hiking trails, forest, oak savanna, farmland and Kinnikinnick Creek). This grant supports the services of Bluestem Ecological Services (forestry mowing, prescribed burn) and reseeding of the site.
